TAHAL Romania will provide the county water company (Apa Serv S.A. Neamt) various design services, including principal design, feasibility studies and detailed design of a regional water supply system.
The water supply system scope includes 1,400 km of water and wastewater pipeline, waste water treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs etc. In the second stage of the project, TAHAL Romania will prepare 8 EPC projects tender documents, totaling ~$180 million, based on first stage's design, as well as providing professional and technical guidance to the construction works of those projects.
Neamt county is the 5th largest region in Romania, where over half million residents are living in two cities, three towns and 80 villages. The county is located along mountainous terrain that imposes many engineering challenges and requires specific professional skills in order to cope with those challenges. The project is financed mainly by EU fund, which previously approved allocating $200 million to rehabilitate the Neamt's regional water and sewer infrastructures.
Neamt project is joining Bucharest project, signed earlier this year, and they both bring TAHAL Romania's 2016 new orders to over $25 million. TAHAL Group marked Romania as one of its main targets, based on EU 10-year $3 billion development plan in various fields, including water and wastewater, and we expect to continue expanding our operations in Romania in the coming years.
