The unit is installed in a pumping station constructed entirely underground and equipped with three horizontal pumping units and intakes on Lake Kinneret as part of the previous phase of works. Additional seismic analyses were undertaken in the framework of design studies for the fourth unit owing to the heterogeneous nature of the host rock.

Project components include:

• Water intake in the lake.

• Installation of a submersible pump (discharge 7.1 cu.m/sec, capacity 4 MW) and a high lift pump (discharge 7.1 cu.m/sec, total dynamic head 250 m and capacity 20 MW).

• Transmission line of 68" diameter.

• Electric, power and control systems, and accessories.

The consulting fee was US$ 1.8 million.
